A Note To Self
The following letter was based on the prompt yesterday from letter writing week for The Creative Commute. A note to myself.
Hey, Oz:
I know that things are in a rough place right now.
You're struggling to find the direction to take your writing in, with wins short to come by. Working from home the last year has left you even more burned out from being a donations associate than you were before the pandemic began. An escape from all of it is longed for. At the very least, the need to pull the covers overhead. A moment of peace and quiet would be nice too.
But don't forget, there's light at the end of the tunnel.
Jab #2 is in nine days time.
At least you can begin to think of emerging in the outside world again. And hopefully, the trip to Italy and the Roger Waters concert happen next summer.
You can do it, it will be your long deserved vacation in June soon enough.
You can always look back on the photos from last Saturday night and get a taste of the outside world.
And it was the day of your friends book launch. I'm sure that will make you smile with pride. Especially after the fact that the book, Significant Women hit best seller status.
Better days are sure to come, even if it doesn't seem like it now. Dry your eyes, dear friend.
I love you.
